I got my GD3 from the Kickstarter campaign. I am using it with the Arduino IDE, and an Arduino UNO clone.
I find that demo programs sometimes take a long (and variable) time to start.
e.g. radarchart. When I upload it from the IDE, it seems to take a long time to start - sometimes more than 30 seconds. Sometimes, the same program starts in 3 seconds. In general, it seems to be taking a variable time to start every time.
The behaviour is similar if I use the reset button - or power on the Arduino with USB.
Any ideas on what could be going on here ?

Possibly the microSD card detection is stalling. Maybe try:
(1) Putting a microSD card in the slot (2) Changing the startup line:
GD.begin();
to
GD.Begin(~GD_STORAGE);
to disable microSD detection.

GD.Begin(~GD_STORAGE); to disable microSD detection. Yeah! I didn't have an SD card in my Gameduino. That change works for me. Now got an SD card & running all the example programs. It's a joy to use. Thanks for your work!

Thanks. I think the worst case 500 ms timeout (mentioned in issue description) is good. This will ensure that everyone has a good experience.
