Hi, Linknode is based on ESP8266. I'm not sure if GD2 is compatible with ESP32 chips. Would be nice though:)

I try and not work with current library. It is possible with a version that FT81xmania.com team modified if work, but with functions prior to Gameduino3, video playback does not work yet.
The modified library if it is functional in STM32Fxxx
Possibility in future to work

Hi,
I'm trying to use a Gameduino 3 with a Wemos D1 R32 board because it conveniently fits.
I'm having no luck at all. I've tried both the GD23Z and GD23ZESP32 libraries as well as the regular GD libraries. I've installed all the required supported libraries and managed to compile and upload but nothing from the screen, the backlight doesn't even light (I know the Gameduino 3 is fine as tested on an UNO).
This is the current code I'm using:
#include <GD23Z.h>
void setup() { EEPROM.begin(512); //Use only for ESP8266 and ESP32 calibration screen GD.begin(); }
void loop() { GD.ClearColorRGB(0x000015); GD.Clear(); GD.cmd_text(GD.w / 2, GD.h / 2, 31, OPT_CENTER, "Hello world"); GD.swap(); }

Changes were merged to support the ESP32 and the Wemos D1 R32 (also called ESPDUINO-32) board on Sep 15. Use the latest library from github.com/jamesbowman/gd2-lib and you will have ESP32 support.

Exploring the concept of replacing my Teensy 3.2 based controllers with an ESP32 for projects. Can someone with experience (ESP32 and gameduino 2/3 interface) confirm that the standard SPI pins on the ESP32 boards are the ones to use (I am using a dev C board, IO 5, 18, 19, 23). Any comments whether the libraries need modification to use these standard pins? Pin out reference for the ESP32 dev C board

So you are the only post that show how to connect and run this. Basically, for the gameduino lib, you just load it and select an example, like. And for the hardware you connect a LCD eve display with the 4pin spi and +-5volt ?
