Yes, the slider widget is "smart" about its direction, using "w" and "h" to decide orientation:

So a horizontal slider is 200x10:

GD.cmd_slider(16, 16, 200, 10, 0, value, 1023);

and a vertical one is 10x200:

GD.cmd_slider(16, 16, 10, 200, 0, value, 1023);
