I understand how touch input and tagging work, but I can't get my head around how to detect a swipe using these features.
For instance, how do I know that a swipe has started/ended, and at the end, detect direction (up, down, left, right) ? Is there a way to do most of this outside the arduino ?
Any hints appreciated.
Thanks!

You have to do this on the host CPU - the FT800's touch system only does touch sensing, not gestures.
The demo "jnr" (under "5.Demos") shows how to make a scrolling background using the touch system, with a swipe-like behavior.

Maybe a future gameduino3 (or a 2b version) could use the ftdi ft801 which supports capacative touch screens and gestures?
