Salut, there is a significant differnece between python 3.3 and python 2.7 - please try to install python 2.7 and check if the error is still there. I cannot tell for the Mac as I have none but under windows it is quite the same hassle. The handling of the asset converter is quite simple: > gd2asset -o my_asset.h file.png file2.png This creates a header file with the graphics stored in the header file as an array > gd2asset -o my_asset.h -f my.GD2 file.png file2.png This creates a (significantly smaller) header file and a file my.GD2 that holds the graphic data and needs to be copied to the SD card. In my case, I have phython.exe in c:\Python27 and the gd2asset script in c:\Python27\scripts . As I have not modified the path vaiable, I need to call everything explicitly: > c:\Python27\python.exe c:\Python27\scripts\gd2asset -o my_asset.h -f my.GD2 file.png file2.png which I have put into a batch file. I assume that the install routine does nothing else than placing the script into the script directory. I therefore have attached the gd2asset script. Ciao, Mathias gd2asset (193 B)

Salut,
I guess instead of poking around we have to fix the installation problem. On my PC all went well without problems. (I know, that is as helpful as a doctor who say "my leg is not broken") - I installed Python2.7.6 using the msi package (http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.7.6/python-2.7.6.msi) - I installed easy_install using the setup script (https://bitbucket.org/pypa/setuptools/raw/bootstrap/ez_setup.py downloaded to c:\test\ez_setup.py using the command > c:\Python27\python.exe c:\test\ez_setup.py - I installed the Python Image Library using the executable (http://effbot.org/downloads/PIL-1.1.7.win32-py2.7.exe) - and finally I executed easy_install -U gameduino2
Can you tell me which of the steps above did not work? You should deinstall any other python version other than 2.7.6. I use windows7 enterprise 64bit but the steps above should work under windowsXP the same way
Ciao, Mathias

mathiasw,
I followed your guide up until the end
- and finally I executed easy_install -U gameduino2
what does that mean? executed where and how? command line? python? I tried both and nothing worked. It's also not clear to me how to use the asset converter even after it's installed.
Thanks.

Hi, I have same question than New21: Where to execute easy_install -U gameduino2 command? I tried on windows cmd, python cmd and python shell. None of them worked. Is there any manual installation of gameduino2 package and gd2asset command-line utility? Attachments:
