For my project I need some round objects like circles, analog gauges and so on. My display has a resolution of 800x480 pixel, but the pixels are not square, they are higher than wide. So if I draw a circle the display shows a ellipse.
Is there a way to 'shrink' or scale the whole FT8xx output? Lets say 100% width and 90% height?

I ‚fixed‘ the problem by not using the gauge command cmd_ gauge, but drawing the gauge needles with lines calculating the length of the needle for an ellipse. The background graphic for the gauge I scaled before using the asset converter.

nevertheless, a circle/point should be a circle/point and not an ellipse ...

Thats right, but ...
I use the display from my car stereo navigation system, which is a 6,5“ display with 800x480 resolution. I can take screenshots on that system, and if I compare the screenshots with the actual screen the screenshots are streched in y direction. That means to me that the system realy draws ellipses to get circles in the end.
On Kodi for instance we can calibrate the screen aspect ratio to get perfect circles and squares.
I hoped that there is such a function in FT81x.

The pdf describes why it happens and how to select a better display, but I cannot change my display :-(

but with the help of the pdf you can calculate a suitable scaling factor

I am using a 7 inch Riverdi display. My solution was to resize width of image files by 0.93 factor before loading to sd card. It may not be the perfect ratio but results are satisfying for my needs
